About MPC Rwanda
Missionaries of the Peace of Christ the King (MPC) is a Catholic religious community founded in 2001 at Janja Mother House, dedicated to integral human development, peace mediation, and inclusive education across Rwanda.
Our Founding & History
Founded in 2001 by Sr. Marie Spéciose Donata Uwimanimpaye at Janja Mother House with the official canonical approval of Monseigneur Alexis Habiyambere (Ruhengeri Diocese).
Over the past 25 years, MPC has expanded from its initial base in Gakenke into 10 active communities spread across 5 Catholic Dioceses (Ruhengeri, Byumba, Nyundo, Butare, and Cyangugu).
Canonical & Legal Status
- ✓ Approved by Canon Law as a Public-Interest Catholic Association.
- ✓ Governed by a Superior General & General Council.
- ✓ Operating across 10 Diocesan Communities in 5 Dioceses.
- ✓ Managing 2 premier secondary schools (Janja & Muramba).
